Shaun Tan's The Arrival is loved by the French. Deservedly.

Shaun Tan's The Arrival has won Le Grand Prix at Angouleme. That's pretty big news.

Was this written by Trudy Cooper?

Dammit - i reread my last post - I meant to say I disagree with Dave or Ben's view that Trudy is the only decent writer in OZ. There are others. I am not one of them.

And "drrrr" there are no words in The Arrival, it wasn't written.

I was only messing (in a Rik Mayall voice).

Great news about The Arrival. I was on a panel with Shaun during the Brisbane writers festival and he told a funny story about people objecting to his nomination for best writer, on the basis that The Arrival had now words.
