i feel so validated

1. Total number of films I own on DVD/video: Including the Bali dvds that i have for backup reasons about 230, about 150 without the drinkcoaters

2. The last film I bought: Rififi and 400 Blows

3.The last film I watched: The Four Feathers (2003 version)

4.Five films that I watch a lot or that mean a lot to me:

I. Graduate - just perfection, its sad and funny and ironic

II. The Killer - John Woo at his best, i can't get enough of Chow's double gun goodness

III. Bad Boys 2 - Explosions, shoot outs, curse words and car chases.

IV. Fight Club - Brad and Ed; wear cool clothes, beat on each other and try and disturb the equilibrium. Its the straighest gay movie ever.

V. Breakfast club - because i'm a john hughes teen movie freak, Molly Ringwald -sigh-

Which five people am I passing the baton onto? And why?
I don't think i know five people
Jase Harper - hopefully Mania don't find out about his love for Polish snuff films
Dean Rankine - because i doubt Dean watches films he too busy getting it done
Cool Hand Luke - because i want him to reveal his anime love
Gary Lau - he has access to good asian films
Owen Heitman - the man can name the most obscurest punk bands in the world but I have a feeling he loves Martin Lawerence films

1. Total number of films I own on DVD/video: I could go home and count, but I wouldn’t imagine it’s more than about 20 or 30. And most of those I’ve won or been given. I don’t watch a lot of movies, and of those that I do there’s very few I’d want to watch more than once. Not because I don’t like them, but because I can’t help thinking I could do something more constructive with that time.

2. The last film I bought: The Night Of The Living Dead was the last one I bought. I had a Sanity voucher and none of their stores stock decent CDs at a decent price. I got given Ferris Bueller’s Day Off for Christmas, which was more recent. And more recent again (I think) I got given some Miyazaki films for review.

3. The last film I watched: Hitchhiker’s Guide To The Galaxy. Saw it three days ago, but it’s the first movie I’ve seen in a few months.

4. Five films that I watch a lot or that mean a lot to me:
As I said, I don’t often watch a film more than once, but these are definitely cool:

1. Ferris Bueller’s Day Off. I didn’t see this until I was 19 or 20. I think if I’d seen it earlier my teenage years would have been a lot better.

2. The Fifth Element. Star Wars without bad prequels to ruin it. Although it does have Chris Tucker, who tries his best to. And fails!

3. 12 Monkeys. The first time I saw it, it blew my mind. The second time I saw it, it blew my mind. The third time I saw it, I began to actually understand what was happening, and it sort of reduced the impact. I decided I probably shouldn’t watch it again.

4. The City Of Lost Children. I remember it being visually stunning, and that’s about it, which is strange, because usually I hate films that opt for spectacle over plot. It must have had more going for it that I’ve forgotten.

5. Um… The Castle of Cagliostro? I’ve only seen it once, but I raved about it for weeks to anyone who would listen.

Honourable mention: Them! Black and white 50s sci-fi about giant ants. It’s goddamn good.

I reckon everything except number one would be different if you asked me tomorrow.

Which five people am I passing the baton onto? And why?
I know more than five people, but not ones that I think would do this.
